TK-1 & TKS-1

 

The TK-1 is for guitars with a two post or six screw style tremolo unit. It is not a drop in. Nominal routing will be necessary. 

TK-2  & TKS-2

 

The TK-2 is designed for guitars that have a slanted single coil pickup at the bridge that mounts to the bridge plate. The vibrato works exactly the same as the TK-1, but uses a different bridge plate. Routing of a spring cavity is necessary for installation of this unit.

TK-3


The TK-3 is designed for other style solid body guitars with no existing cavity route and having the correct neck angle to accept a body mounted bridge. This model features a smaller footprint than traditional trems. The vibrato works exactly the same as the TK-1, but uses a different bridge plate. Routing of a spring cavity is necessary for installation.

What is Trem King®? The First New Design for Tremolo in 30 Years!

 The newly patented TREM KING® is a vibrato system for guitar that uses a fixed bridge concept. The bridge plate is fixed to the body of the guitar. The saddles are fixed to the bridge and do not move. The intonation point and string height never change as with many other designs. All the action happens inside the guitar. And the best part is NOTHING happens until you touch the vibrato bar.

 


The Action

The bar inserts directly into the tone block for the best leverage. The tone block pivots back and forth to provide the vibrato action. The TREM KING is able to act as a fixed bridge because the critical balance of string tension versus spring pressure combined with the patented Tension Bar. The tone block only moves when the vibrato bar is moved. When you use the vibrato bar, the tension bar brings the tone block back to the same Zero Point time after time. Two springs are normally all that are necessary to provide this balance. This allows for very light (2 lbs.) pressure to actuate the vibrato. The feel is precise and smooth.


Get A Grip. Really...

Along with the exclusive Grip Tip Vibrato Bar that has an adjustable rubber tip, the TREM KING is a joy to play. There is no locking nut necessary on the TREM KING. You can drop tune and not have to re-tune all the other strings. If you break a string while playing, your guitar will stay in tune and you can finish the song. The strings are easily and quickly replaced by loading through the bottom of the tone block with no cutting or special tools necessary.

  1. What is the difference with Trem-King tremolo than the others on the replacement market?


  3. It stays in Tune. How? The Trem King is a fixed bridge, fixed saddle system. The intonation point NEVER changes. Most other tremolos have a moving bridge, saddle, or both. The Trem King has a stabilizing system that brings the strings back to pitch every time.


  5. -When you do double string bends the tone block does not move.

  6. -You can drop tune to other keys and the others strings stay tuned.

  7. -When a string breaks the other strings stay in tune.

  8. -You can palm mute and strings and stay in tune.


  10. Can the tremolo take heavy usage and stay in tune?

  14. -The unit has no negetive angles from string ball end to the saddles.

  15. -The tone block is on a pivot pin and positioned behind the saddles.

  29. What does the tremolo feel like? 


  31. The Trem-King has a very controlled feel.


  33. -The tremolo bar is mounted directly to the tone block between the E and  B strings. The position of the bar and the tone block pivot pin mount  give the tremolo a smooth and precise feel.

  34. -When you operate the tremolo bar up or down, the pressure of the bar is the same, soft and smooth.


  36. What kind of maintence does the tremolo system need.


  38. -Periodically check the spring tension. If the system is not holding pitch, check the spring tension for the tone block and the tension bar. Adjust as  necessary.


  40. -Graphite pins in Saddles – The strings on a guitar with the Trem King could eventually wear a groove in the graphite pin in the saddle. Should this happen and the groove becomes too deep, remove the saddle from the bridge plate. Carefully tap the pin completely out one side of the saddle. Turn 180 degrees and re-insert carefully into the saddle. Replace saddle onto bridge plate.
